Corrine Elise (she/her) is Launch Pad's Associate Director of Engagement and Administration. She has over a decade of experience in the nonprofit world, focused on housing and food insecurity as well as volunteer management and community education. While earning her Masters in English Rhetoric & Composition from Western Carolina University, she studied how the rhetoric we use while serving the community impacts the people we serve in tangible ways. Outside of her work with Launch Pad, she also serves as Board Intern for the TN Pride Chamber. She loves live music, hanging out with her animals, and drinking entirely too many dirty chai lattes.
What would you like future physicians who are working with people experiencing homelessness to know?
Take the time to listen as much as you can. Establishing trust through taking the time to hear them can lead to better care. People experiencing homelessness are not a monolith; being unhoused impacts each person and their health differently.
