Kenna Hasler is currently the Director of Homeless Services at Park Center, a mental health and substance use non-profit in Nashville, TN. Kenna holds a BSW from University of New Hampshire and has been working in direct service for close to 14 years with various populations (rural, city, college, families, adults). She has worked in the fields of Intimate Partner/Sexual Violence, Child Protection Services, Mental Health and Homelessness. For the past 7 years Kenna has worked in the Nashville Homeless Community providing and managing outreach and mental health services for the unhoused.
What would you like future physicians who are working with people experiencing homelessness to know?
Any assistance you can provide to connect to another organization or to help the member feel safe in confiding their circumstance to you is important. Being unhoused comes with a lot of stigma and it is important to make people feel safe and heard.
